STATUS
• Returns to the Rockers after finishing the 2021 campaign in High Point and pitching the entire 2022 campaign.

CAREER NOTES
• 171 career MLB games…8-9 record, 4.31 ERA and 4 saves…53 professional saves.
• If he earns a save in 2023, would become the first Rocker with saves in multiple seasons

2022
• Finished the season on a streak of 12 consecutive games with a strikeout… Struck out at least one batter in every appearance since 8/13/22.
• Finished seventh in the Atlantic League with 13 saves and tied for eighth with 50 appearances
• Those 13 saves put him in a four-way tie for the Rockers’ season saves record
• And 13 saves stands as the Rockers’ career record
• The Rockers have never had a pitcher earn a save in more than one season
2021
• Posted a 1-1 record and a 2.87 ERA in 16 appearances for High Point
• Allowed 4 ER in second appearance but allowed only 1 ER in final 14 outings combined
• Used primarily as a set-up man and did not have a save opportunity in any of his appearances but was T-2nd with five holds
• Was 2-2 with a 6.06 ERA for AAA Tacoma (Seattle)…Released by Seattle on August 12.
2020
• DID NOT PLAY DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC
2019
• Made a combined 11 MLB appearances for Oakland, Toronto, and New York (A).
2018
• Split the season between AAA Nashville (3.54 ERA in 23 games) and MLB Oakland (4.26 ERA in 28 games)
2017
• Appeared in 49 games for Oakland with a 5.14 ERA and 2-2 record…struck out 45 batters in 42 innings.
2016
• In first full MLB season, went 5-5 with 2.42 ERA in 70 games (9th-most in AL).
2015
• Made MLB debut with Oakland on September 1, pitching a scoreless inning vs. Angels…recorded a 1-2 record with a save and 4.24 ERA in 13 games.
• Made 12 appearances at AAA Nashville, allowing just 2 runs in 16 innings.
• Fashioned a 0.60 ERA at Midland in 27 games, recording 12 saves.
2014
• Spent entire season at Midland…saved 6 games in 40 appearances with a 2.88 ERA.
2013
• Pitched in 3 minor league levels, reaching AA Midland…combined to save 19 games with a 2.45 ERA in 45 games, striking out 78 in 60 innings.
2012
• Drafted in the 32nd round by Oakland…split season between Rk Arizona League Athletics and A- Vermont…5 combined saves in 21 games.
• In final season at UNC Asheville, garnered a 5-5 record with 3.55 ERA, compiling 84 strikeouts in 83.2 innings.
2011
• Was 2-6 at UNC Asheville with 4.62 ERA in 13 games (12 starts).
2010
• Went 6-4 at UNC Asheville with three complete games . . . Led the team with 88 innings and struck out 45 while walking just 13 . . . Posted 4.40 ERA.
2009
• Made 12 starts and had three wins while leading the team with 77.2 innings . . . Threw a complete game in a win over High Point U on 3/30/2009.
2008
• Went 11-1 at East Forsyth with 103 strikeouts and a 0.58 ERA . . . Named team MVP and Metro 4-A Player of the Year . . . Named all-state as a senior as well as all-conference . . . Named the Forsyth County Player of the Year.
2007
• Posted 7-4 record with 2.75 ERA and 60 strikeouts for East Forsyth in leading the club to the first of two straight conference championships.

Joe Geck

Joe Geck

Joe Geck, a veteran of sports medicine in professional baseball, returns for his second year with the High Point Rockers.

Geck, who resides in Hickory, N.C. year-round, spent 28 years in the Chicago White Sox organization, serving as the head athletic trainer at Charlotte, Birmingham, Winston-Salem, Kannapolis, Hickory and in the Gulf Coast League.  He began is professional career with the Kansas City Royals in the Rookie level Gulf Coast League in 1990.

Geck is a graduate of the University of South Florida and holds membership in the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society (PBATS) and is licensed as an athletic trainer in North Carolina.

STATUS
• Rejoins the Rockers for the third consecutive season. Is one of just three Rockers starting the 2022 season after having been in the 2019 Opening Day line-up.

CAREER NOTES
• Has played 11 minor league seasons, appearing in 1,118 games with a .252 average, 128 homers and 559 RBI.
• 225 career professional home runs, 957 RBIs and 147 stolen bases.
• In 2019, was named to the Bradenton Marauders’ All-Decade team after his performance there in 2010.

2021
• Returned to Rockers in August, batting .297 with 6 HR and 21 RBI in 39 games.
• Began season with Nettuno (Italy)

2019
• Played 11 games with the Rockers, hitting .264 with 21 homers and 72 RBI. Stole 12 bases and hit 24 doubles.
• Also played with Tigres de Quintana Roo for three weeks (5/28/19 to 6/19/19).
• Returned to Rockers on 6/21/19.
2018
• Hit .295 in 134 games split between AAA Leon (Mexican) and Mazatlan.
• Combined for a .295 average with 18 homers and 94 RBI along with 32 doubles.
2017
• Spent time with three teams including Aguascalientes (Mexican), AA Tulsa (Texas/Dodgers) and A+ Lakeland (Florida State/Tigers) and Rancho Cucamonga (California/Dodgers).
• Between the three teams, played in 82 games, hit .274 with 11 homers and 42 RBI.
• Named California League Player of the Week (8/20/17) while with Rancho Cucamonga.
2016
• Returned to AA Bowie for a second consecutive year and posted .209 average, 14 home runs and 45 RBI in 115 games.
2015
• Signed by Baltimore Orioles as a free agent and assigned to AA Bowie.
• Played in 122 games and hit .274 with career-best 20 homers, 64 RBI and 74 runs.
• Earned Eastern League All-Star status on both the Mid-Season and Post-Season teams.
• MiLB.com Organization All-Star with Orioles organization.
2014
• Went through spring training with Pittsburgh before being released.
•Signed with Washington Nationals and spent entire season at AA Harrisburg (Eastern) with .277 average, 11 homers and 41 RBI in 108 games.
• Named Eastern League Player of the Week (8/4/14) with Harrisburg Senators.
2013
• Acquired by the Cleveland organization and played 81 games at AA Akron (Eastern) and hit .231 with six homers and 30 RBI.
• Released by Cleveland on 7/17/2013 and signed with Washington, Pa. of the Frontier League where he hit .232 with six homers and 22 RBI in 41 games.
2012
• Returned to Altoona for a second consecutive year and played 126 games with 104 hits, 15 homers, 71 RBI and 52 runs scored.
• Posted an OPS of .754 with 10 stolen bases and 24 doubles.
2011
• At AA Altoona (Eastern), hitt .239 with 15 homers and 59 RBI in 128 games
2010
• Spent season at A+ Bradenton (Florida State) where he drove in 100 runs in 134 games.
• Hit .266 with 19 homers, 84 runs, 31 doubles, a .767 OPS and stole 11 of 12 bases.
• Florida State League Post-Season All-Star with Bradenton Marauders.
• MiLB.com Organization All-Star with Pirates organization.
2009
• Spent entire season at A West Virginia (South Atlantic) where hd played in 118 games, hitting .251 with 11 home runs and 70 RBI.
• Hit a career-high 10 triples.
2008
• Posted .244 average with three home runs and 20 RBI with A- State College (New York-Penn) in 59 games.
2007
• Selected in fourth round of MLB Draft by Pittsburgh Pirates
• Started career with Pirates’ Gulf Coast League (rookie) team where he hit .257 with three home runs and 17 RBI while stealing 13 of 17 bases.
2006
• Committed to play college baseball at N.C. State for head coach Elliott Avent.
• Played in the State Games in 2006 alongside future Major Leaguers Whit Merrifield and Madison Bumgarner.

Dr. Jordan Case

Dr. Jordan Case

Jordan Miller Case, MD is the Team Doctor for the High Point Rockers and oversee the health needs of all players and coaches, including physicals, evaluation/treatment of injuries, and rehabilitation. He works closer with the Rockers training staff to ensure a full and speedy recovery for all players so they can perform to the best of their abilities during both the season and off-season. Dr. Case is also an Orthopedic Surgeon with Wake Forest Baptist Health.

Albert Gonzalez

Albert Gonzalez is a 2013 graduate of High Point University and is entering his third campaign with the Rockers as the Bench Coach and Director of Player Procurement. 

During the 2019 and 2021 season, Gonzalez served as the Rockers bullpen coach and bullpen catcher. In addition, Gonzalez signed as an active player appearing in two games during the 2021 season. During the off-season, Gonzalez spent the fall as a catching coach for his alma mater, High Point University, and served as an assistant coach at Greensboro College.

 In 2020, Gonzalez served as the manager of the New York Boulders of the Frontier League, leading the club to a playoff berth before finishing his first managerial season leading the BR Bandits to a Liberation Professional Baseball League Championship. 

Prior to his stint in High Point, Gonzalez served as the first head coach in Monroe College history, as well as an assistant coach at Felician University and Yeshiva University. 

The 2022 season will be his sixth season coaching under Rockers’ manager Jamie Keefe. Both were with the Rockland Boulders of the Can-Am League in 2017 and 2018, reaching the Can-Am League Finals in 2017. Gonzalez has played professionally overseas in Puerto Rico and Spain.
