Truist Point to host 63 contests in 2026

Rockers announce 2026 schedule

Rockers announce 2026 schedule

September 10, 2025 by Steve Shutt

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point Rockers and the Atlantic League today announced the 2026 schedule with the High Point Rockers hosting 63 games at Truist Point during the league’s 28th season. Included in the Rockers’ schedule are home games on Opening Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, July 4th and Memorial Day weekend.

Rockers announce 2026 schedule

The Rockers open their seventh season at home against the Gastonia Ghost Peppers on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. It marks the earliest ALPB Opening Day during High Point’s tenure in the league.

The Rockers will be at home on Friday and Saturday, July 3-4 for Independence Day, for Mother’s Day on May 10 and Father’s Day on June 14. High Point will be at home on Saturday and Sunday, May 23-24 on Memorial Day weekend and will close the regular season at home on Sunday, September 13 for just the second time in club history.

“The 2026 schedule is the best that we’ve had over our six seasons in the Atlantic League,” said Rockers President Pete Fisch. “Playing at Truist Point on Opening Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, July 4 and Memorial Day weekend allows our fans to share their love of baseball with family and friends.

“We will again have a great fireworks celebration around Independence Day and we will continue our tradition of Fireworks Fridays throughout the 2026 season.”

The ALPB first half champions will be crowned at the mid-point of the season following games on Thursday, July 2 with the second half starting on Friday, July 3. The 126-game regular season schedule will wrap up on Sunday, September 13.

The Atlantic League schedule for 2026 is a departure from past schedules, moving nearly every series from three games to six games. The Rockers will play three-game series during Opening Week, the final week of the regular season, the final week of May and the first week of July. All other series will be six game sets. The move allows for a reduction in travel throughout the league with each team averaging about 1,600 fewer miles traveled than in 2025.

The Rockers will play 84 games against fellow South Division opponents while playing 42 times against teams from the North. The 2026 ALPB division set-up will remain the same with the Rockers competing for the South Division title along with Gastonia, Charleston, Lexington and Southern Maryland.

The Rockers will play 21 games against in-state rival Gastonia, 24 contests vs. the Charleston Dirty Birds, 21 with the Lexington Legends and 18 against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

For more information on tickets and the complete season schedule, contact the High Point Rockers Ticket Office at (336) 888-1000 ([email protected])  or visit HighPointRockers.com.

Game times for all contests will be announced at a later date.

Rockers make roster moves

Rockers make roster moves

August 12, 2025 by Steve Shutt

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The High Point Rockers will open a six-game series at the Charleston Dirty Birds on Tuesday night, August 12, following a number of roster changes.

The Rockers have re-signed 1B Evan Edwards, loaned OF Luis Gonzalez to a team in the Mexican League, and released C Jack Conley following his retirement. In addition, High Point activated C Isaiah Mirabal to fill Conley’s spot on the roster.

Gonzalez, 29, will not be available to the Rockers this week as he has been loaned to the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican Baseball League. Gonzalez will suit up for the Acereros (translation: Steelers) during their playoff series against Laredo. Gonzalez is hitting .281 for the Rockers this season with 15 homers and 29 stolen bases. He will return to the Rockers following the Steelers mid-week series.

Edwards, 27, returns to the Rockers after a two-month stint with the Los Angeles Angels Class AA team in Huntsville, Ala. Edwards was the Atlantic League’s Player of the Month in April/May when he led the ALPB in the three “triple crown” categories of batting average (.375), home runs (13) and RBI (43). Edwards is a Guilford County native who played Southern Guilford High School and NC State.

Conley, 28, retired following Sunday’s home game with Southern Maryland. The catcher, who played at NC State, is a Raleigh native and among the top base-stealing catchers in Atlantic League history. He won an ALPB Championship with Lancaster in 2023 and set the league record for stolen bases by a catcher with 29.

Mirabal, 25, is hitting .244 with two homers and 12 RBI in 26 games this season. He will share the catching duties with Luke Napleton who recently returned to the Rockers following a stay in the Minnesota Twins organization.

The Rockers take on the Dirty Birds in the first game of the series on Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. Rocker fans can catch all the action on FLOBASEBALL.TV and on the MixLR app.

High Point’s next home game will be against the South Division leading Lexington Legends at Truist Point on August 19.

Rockers wallop Birds 10-0

Rockers wallop Birds 10-0

July 23, 2025 by Steve Shutt

By Camden Connolly

HIGH POINT, N.C.- Alex Dickerson drove in five runs and the High Point pitching staff tossed a combined three-hitter as the Rockers defeated the Charleston Dirty Birds 10-0 on Wednesday night at Truist Point.

Starter Brandon Backman, making his first appearance since going on the injured list on May 22, did not allow a hit over his four innings of work while walking two and striking out seven. He was followed by Jake Keys (W, 1-1) who allowed two hits in three innings and Daniel Blair who struck out two and did not allow a hit in the eighth. Ryan Chasse allowed a harmless single in the ninth when the game was well decided.

Dickerson hit a two-run double in the fifth as part of a five-run inning and then added a three-run homer in the seventh. On the night, he was three-for-five with two runs scored and five RBI.

The Rockers continue to hold the Atlantic League’s top overall record at 49-28, holding a one-game lead over the York Revolution. High Point is 8-6 in the second half and in second place behind South Division leader Lexington (9-4).

The game began as a pitcher’s duel. Luis Gonzalez led off the bottom of the first for the Rockers with a bunt single but High Point didn’t collect another hit until D.J. Burt singled in the fourth. His line drive was prosperous, however, driving in Ben Aklinski who had walked and moved to second on a walk to Jack Conley before scoring on Burt’s hit.

Charleston issued six walks to the Rockers in the fifth inning as High Point tallied five runs to take a 6-0 lead. Dickerson drove in two with a double, Aklinski added a sac fly and Burt and Gonzalez each drew bases-loaded walks.

Charleston’s only hits came in the sixth off Gilbert. James Nelson and Benjamin Blackwell each singled with one out but they were erased on a 6-3 double play.

High Point used a walk to Aidan Brewer and a single by Gonzalez to set up Drew Mendoza for an RBI single and a 7-0 lead. Dickerson followed with his three-run blast to finish of the Birds at 10-0.

Charleston starter Eddy Demurias (L, 2-3) allowed just two hits over his 3.2 innings of work and yielded just one run.

Gonzalez and Dickerson each finished with three hits for the Rockers who took advantage of 13 walks issued by Charleston pitchers. The Rockers received at least one walk in all but one inning with five of the runs scoring off free passes.

High Point leads the series 2-0 and will look to finish off the Birds on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. at Truist Point. Rockers fans can catch the action on FLOBASEBALL.TV and on the MixLR app.

NOTES: The Rockers activated Backman and Gilbert prior to Wednesday’s game . . . both had been on the injured list . . . To make room, the Rockers placed LHP Ben Wereski and C Chris Brady on the inactive list.

Devine earns 1st win in 3 years

Devine earns 1st win in 3 years

July 19, 2025 by Steve Shutt

LANCASTER, Pa. – Mike Devine won his first game in professional baseball since 2022, leading the High Point Rockers to a 9-3 over the Lancaster Stormers on Saturday night at Penn Medicine Park. Devine (W, 1-0) went six innings, allowing just five hits and a pair of walks while striking out two.

For Devine, 35, it marked his first victory on the mound since pitching for Veracruz in the Mexican League in 2022. The former VMI pitcher had last pitched in the Atlantic League with Southern Maryland in 2021. A freight broker in Tampa by day, Devine worked his way back to professional baseball earlier this month and was making his second start as a Rocker on Saturday.

The Rockers improved to 6-5 in the second half and continue to hold the Atlantic League’s top overall record at 47-27. The Rockers are a game behind Lexington in the South Division second half standings.

The Rockers never trailed after loading the bases with nobody out in the top of the first. Lancaster starter Noah Bremer (L, 4-2) then struck out Alex Dickerson and Ben Aklinski before walking Braxton Davidson to force in a run. D.J. Burt then singled to center to score Max Viera but the Stormers were able to throw Drew Mendoza out at the plate to limit the Rockers to a 2-0 lead.

Devine kept the Stormers hitless until Nick Ward hit a solo homer in the third to cut High Point’s lead to 2-1.

After Isaiah Mirabal singled to start the fifth inning, Aidan Brewer hit a two-run homer to left-center to put the Rockers up 4-1. Luis Gonzalez followed with a double into the right field corner and then scored on consecutive wild pitches by Bremer. Viera then drew a walk before Mendoza delivered a 404-foot homer to right to put High Point ahead 7-1.

Lancaster answered with two runs on three hits off Devine in the bottom of the fifth. Ward delivered a two-run double after Danny Amaral and Scott Kelly had singled.

Stevie Branche came out of the bullpen in the seventh followed by Zach Vennaro in the eighth as each kept the Stormers without another run.

The Rockers added a pair of insurance runs in the eighth. Gonzalez led off the inning with a solo homer, his 15th of the year, to put High Point ahead 8-3. After Mendoza tripled, Dickerson doubled to right for a 9-3 Rockers advantage.

Jameson McGrane pitched the ninth and was aided by a pair of acrobatic leaping catches in the outfield by Gonzalez and Viera to keep Lancaster off the scoreboard.

With the series knotted at 1-1, the rubber match is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Penn Medicine Park. Rockers fans can catch the action on FLOBASEBALL.TV and on the MixLR app. High Point returns home to start a six-game home stand beginning on Tuesday at 6:35 against the Charleston Dirty Birds.

NOTES: The Rockers placed C Nolan Watson on the 7-day injured list after he suffered a leg injury while rounding first base on a base hit on Friday . . . High Point signed C Chris Brady who had been with the club during spring training.
